Opportunity available for an experienced welder. This individual must observe all Boh Bros. safety protocols and be drug-free. Must have consistent and reliable transportation to and from job sites assigned. Most job sites located in and around the greater New Orleans area. Must be able to pass 6-G weld test.

Duties include but are not limited to lay out, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting. May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, and hand tools. Duties also include housekeeping at job site, checking safety protocol, beginning of shift set-up and end of shift clean-up, etc. Must be able to work in a team setting with other craft workers engaged in heavy construction activities.

Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions, cold, heat, humidity, and at heights and in excavations, able to work at various job sites and locations assigned, able to read a tape measure, and understand directions. Also may be exposed to hazards associated with but not limited to dust, odors, fumes, noise, and vibration hazards.

Able to work with various types of hand tools such as drills, power saws, demolition equipment, welding machines and other small pieces of equipment preferred. 

Previous experience in the construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, and understand directions, work at heights and excavations, able to read blueprints, perform simple mathematical equations and read a tape measure. Must be devoted and reliable. Some knowledge of rigging and crane signaling required. Some welding certifications apply and passing weld test. Current TWIC preferred.

Boh Bros. is a union contractor. All wages and benefits are determined by the union agreement. All new hires will be paid 90% of the journeyman scale for the first 300 hours of employment.
