Contract duration – 12 months (2000 hours S/T and 200 O/T per year) with option to renew for 2 1-year periods

Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide staff augmentation support to SRNS.
- Provide organizational development, leadership, and direction of program activities for the Engineering Organization in a safe and cost-effective manner and on a time scale consistent with site customer needs.
- Support the site mission and strategic direction through the development and implementation of programs and special projects while ensuring safe operation, continuous improvement, cost effectiveness, conduct of operations, regulatory compliance, and teamwork.
- Understand design criteria, resource forecasts, schedules, and priorities.
- Provide project management tools and methods to assigned projects and support development of future projects.
- Manage project tasks and deliver results for cost and schedule of those tasks.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
Education:
BS Degree in Engineering or applicable science.
Experience/Skills:
- Ability to provide direction to develop/deliver technical classroom training is preferred.
- Possesses an active DOE clearance (Preferred).
- Candidate demonstrating a minimum of 10 years of experience in the DOE nuclear or process chemical industry.
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the nuclear industry or at a nuclear facility.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational, leadership and business development.
- Demonstrated experience strategic planning and project execution.
- Demonstrated experience Integrating engineering resources for assigned projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing priority of the tasks and projects assigned.
- Demonstrated experience resolving conflicts between project direction and technical direction from the functional managers.
- Demonstrated experience participating in department and site-wide programmatic issues resolution and quality improvements.
- Demonstrated experience creating a team through requesting, evaluating, and developing engineering expertise capable of achieving the objectives of the projects assigned.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating project cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions.
- Demonstrated experience developing and working with diverse teams to deliver results.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating project cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions.
- Demonstrated experience with engineering manuals, procedures, standards, and engineering programs in the DOE complex.
- Demonstrated ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail and meeting management defined expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clear, concise, and accurate reports, evaluations, documents, procedures, reviews, comment resolutions, email, and oral presentations.
- Ability to mentor team members and develop their organizational and programs or project knowledge.
- Previous Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS procedures are preferred.
- Have good communication and presentation skills. Candidate shall be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
Work Hours: A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. SRNS Management will determine the best schedule depending on work needs. Each workday has an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. Extended work hours and workdays are to be expected with this position.
Area Security Access:
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Afterward, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two years are preferred.
