We are seeking an experienced Graduate Engineer or Project Engineer for our Municipal group. This position can be based in Minneapolis, St. Paul, or St. Cloud.
What You Will Do: You will complete design calculations and cost estimates; assist with the preparation of construction plans, construction schedules, and environmental impact studies; and will compile, write, and edit quality technical reports, letters, memos, specifications, and presentations with direction and input from senior staff. You may also help with proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in public financing, capital planning, public involvement and other presentation opportunities.
Your experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed and direct supervision received.
You may also perform construction observation duties including plan interpretation, record keeping, tracking of quantities and approval of pay vouchers. You may have contact with clients, residents, contractors, public agencies, utility companies, etc in this capacity.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school and will have passed their FE exam. Three or more years of municipal engineering experience is required. You must be able to prepare, read and understand plan documents and have a functional understanding of design software packages, preferably AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD, including the ability to determine and formulate problems, input data, set-up and use models, perform calculations, and gather/interpret results.
Various Minnesota DOT certifications, a Minnesota PE license and five or more years of municipal engineering experience are preferred.
