Purpose:

  • The Senior Wireline Operator directs the Company’s wireline crews which consist of Wireline Operators and Wireline Riggers.
  • The Senior Wireline Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the wireline truck at the service location, rigging up the wireline truck and crane (as applicable) at the service location and assisting with all wireline operations both in the shop and in the field. The role is responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned wireline truck and equipment, as well, keeping records for the overall operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all load-out and pre-job checks for jobs
  • Prepares all required documentation for travel and transport per DOT Regulations
  • Responsible for unit documentation for maintenance of fleet vehicles prior to travel
  • Assists in rigging up and rigging down of wireline equipment for well site operations
  • Verifies the preparation of the wireline unit and calibration of equipment
  • Assists in the assemblies of perforating guns and rebuild of setting tools in various field and shop locations as needed
  • Oversees and assists as needed in the troubleshooting process of tools and equipment
  • Must be willing to drive company wireline units, cranes, pickups and pickups pulling trailers as directed.
  • Instrumental in following and enforcing all Company and Client safety practices before, during and after the well service operation
  • Maintains assigned wireline unit, tools, equipment and facilities in a neat, workable condition and conducts self in an exemplary manner at all times as directed
  • Responsible for verification of all meter checks performed on all perforating guns and equipment prior to use in field
  • Strong working background in Wireline Operations and Pressure Control Equipment
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of various surface logging acquisition systems including Warrior, Perforation, and Depth systems
  • Good working knowledge of various downhole logging services and interpretations including Gamma Ray, CCL, Casing Bond Logs, Calipers, Camera Systems, Free Point Services (Deviation and Directional logging Services are a plus)
  • Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding utilizing downhole explosives services including but not limited to; multiple Perforation gun systems, Jet Cutters, Split Shot Cutters, Pipe Recovery, Plug and Cement Retainers
  • Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by Management within the physical constraints of the job
  • Reports damaged, inoperable, unsafe, and/or inadequate tools, equipment, fleet or materials immediately to the General Manager
  • Reports all malfunctions to the General Manager
  • Performs duties on short notice, day or night, while on duty
  • Must be willing to perform all other duties as assigned by the Company

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Licenses or Certifications:

  • CDL Class B license with hazmat endorsement

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of wireline experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong personal computer skillset to include Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and industry associated bidding programs
  • Ability to meet fast paced, changing schedules and their associated deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current DOT driver’s physical exam card
  • Must be able to pass a DOT and ATF background check

Travel:

  • Must be willing to travel

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.  This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
  • Ability to sit for 30 minutes to 6 hours while driving
  • Ability to stand for 30 minutes-1 hour while unloading vehicle
  • Ability to walk to and from the vehicle (50 to 300 feet at one time)
  • Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10’ or more in height
  • Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing and sitting
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work
  • Working at elevated heights
  • Lifting 50 lb. objects occasionally
  • Carrying 50 lb. objects occasionally
  • Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions
  • Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments and holidays as required
