Summary:
The Packager II position is responsible for the packaging of goods and materials relative to customer specifications with accuracy and quality. This position requires the de-consolidation of inbound loads and the preparation of packages for shipment.
Job Duties:
- Ensures proper material handling and packaging standards are met.
- Performs accurate physical count of material quantity to resolve discrepancies.
- Uses work orders to ensure proper parts/quantity are available for shipment.
- Completes transactions in a bar code/scanner computer system.
- Properly packages and secures material to ensure material is not damaged during transportation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality and cost.
- Understands and follows all ISO and 5S initiatives.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/ skill.
- Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of experience packaging material and operating a forklift preferred
- Basic personal computer skills.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

- Lift heavy objects up to 35 pounds on a regular basis,
- Complete repetitive tasks with few breaks,
- Vision Protection is mandatory
- Vision requirements include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into sharp focus).
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
