Job Description
Total-Western, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations and ensure efficient delivery of our engineering, maintenance, and construction services. The Operations Manager will be responsible for optimizing processes, managing resources, and ensuring that operational goals align with the company’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Oversee and manage daily operations, ensuring efficient execution of engineering, maintenance, and construction services.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Coordinate with department heads to align operations with company objectives and client expectations.
Resource Allocation and Management:
- Plan and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project and operational requirements.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage procurement processes and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze operational processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Implement Lean methodologies and best practices to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation within the operations team.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost-control measures.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profit margins, to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare financial reports and provide insights to senior management on operational performance and budgetary status.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operations staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and implement development plans for team members.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including industry-specific regulations.
- Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Address and resolve operational issues, non-compliances, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders regarding operational matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
- Provide regular updates and reports to clients on project and operational status.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve operational goals and support the company’s long-term objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with overall business strategies.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and expansion within the operational scope.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations management within the engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Operational Expertise: Strong understanding of operational principles and practices, including process optimization and resource management.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing diverse teams.
- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively convey information and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to make data-driven decisions and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory standards in engineering and construction operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operations management software and tools such as ERP systems.
Preferred Experience
- Industry Experience: Experience in the oil and gas, power generation, or manufacturing industries.
- Certifications: Certification in operations management (e.g., APICS, PMP) or related fields.
- Process Improvement: Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project Management: Experience managing large-scale projects and understanding project management principles.

Compensation
