Job Description:
The main objective of Lubrication Technician is to perform all lubrication activities to prevent failures and optimize lubrication cost.
Job Responsibilities
- Lube plant equipment as per lube route / protocol.
- Inspect equipment during lubrication.
- Inspect lubrication systems using check sheets; record and trend critical parameters like temperature, flow, level etc.
- Maintain lube storage and handling room.
- Properly dispose of used oil.
- Prevent and clean oil spills and leaks.
- Order lubricant as required to maintain optimal stock.
- PM and repair lube systems or equipment.
- Maintain filters, breathers and other components.
- Collect and send oil and grease samples for analysis as per schedule.
- Analyze lubrication failures.
- Prepare and distribute monthly lubrication consumption and stock.
- Put work requests in CMMS.
- Perform repair and any other work as required or directed.
- Use lubrication software.
- Be on call as required.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. May be relaxed in deserving cases.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in cement or other process industry.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English language.
- Ability and willingness to work nights and days during outages.
- Ability or willingness to learn use of computers and Oracle R-12 or other programs.
- Ability or willingness to use mobile devices for e mails, texts and CMMS.
- Ability or willingness to learn MS Office documents viz. MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Proficiency is basic math – viz. add, subtract, divide, multiply, average etc.
Physical Requirements
- Climb up to 60 feet above ground on ladders and catwalks
- Walk/stand on uneven ground, walkways and catwalks throughout the work day
- Must be available to walk, crawl, kneel and climb ladders/stairs to inspect facilities and to observe/perform work activities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Able to reason through difficult operations problems, resolve said problems and/or relate same to others
- Capability of working for long periods of time in extreme heat and in dusty areas, confined spaces and heights
- Ability to climb stairs and work at heights (up to 350’)
