Job Summary
The Gas Distribution Foreman is responsible for leading a crew in the completion of directional drilling and related gas distribution activities. This role includes supervising tasks, ensuring safety compliance, resolving equipment issues, and maintaining high-quality work standards. The Foreman must maintain a professional demeanor, arrive on time, and ensure productivity across the team.
Working Conditions
- Work in extreme temperatures ranging from below 20°F to above 110°F.
- Exposure to adverse weather conditions and environmental elements.
- Exposure to elevated noise levels and equipment vibrations.
- Operate in confined spaces while wearing protective gear such as respirators or special clothing.
Duties
- Show up to work on time and as scheduled.
- Complete and discuss a thorough Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to each task.
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide quality customer service.
- Plan, organize, and delegate daily work activities within the crew.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is completed by the crew.
- Properly lift tools, objects, and equipment of varying weights.
- Safely and effectively operate all directional drilling equipment.
- Complete all required customer paperwork accurately and timely.
- Ensure the overall quality of work performed by the crew meets or exceeds standards and expectations.
- Communicate effectively with city utility departments.
- Identify potential problems and implement effective solutions.
- Travel frequently for work assignments, including occasional overnight stays.
Personal Tools and Protective Equipment Required
The Foreman is required to bring and maintain necessary personal tools and protective equipment suitable for fieldwork, including but not limited to safety gear, work gloves, boots, and tools relevant to directional drilling and gas distribution tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the gas industry.
- Prior experience With operating Mueller and T.D Williams tapping equipment.
- Knowledge of repairing leaks and abandon risers.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and maps.
- Strong understanding of underground utility locating and safety protocols.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver/operator license.
- Knowledge of gas distribution operations and underground utility installations.
- Willingness to travel as required for projects.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality standards, and teamwork.
