Operations Manager - Bragg Heavy Transport
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager who is a hardworking leader capable of guiding the team and developing systems to enhance business and transportation performance.
Job Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations at Bragg Heavy Transport, which includes:
- Managing the dispatching of drivers and subhaulers.
- Scheduling operations and supervising personnel.
- Overseeing equipment selection and compliance (Port Registry, DOT, etc.).
- Assisting in sales, job walks, project planning, and execution.
- Handling customer-related functions and union communication.
- Assisting in the hiring of drivers.
What We Are Looking For in Our Operations Manager:
- A college degree holder with at least five to seven years of transportation management experience OR three to five years of experience managing people in the transportation industry.
- A motivated self-starter, comfortable working in a challenging environment.
- A proven leader with demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- A team player, with the ability to work productively with both internal peers/employees and external customers.
- At least five years of experience in oversize/overweight/superload transportation.
- Experience in a union workforce environment.
- Experience in leading a team and coaching employees.
- Knowledgeable in FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and other related regulations.
- Strong commitment to safety and fully committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ability to effectively manage labor and equipment in the daily operation to comply with company goals in areas such as DOT, SOP, personal injury, equipment and property loss, safety audits, equipment maintenance, safety, and post-job reviews.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proven history of profit and loss management to maximize financial performance.
- Strong aptitude in transportation scheduling and managing company and subcontract employees.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- High level of accountability, time management, and willingness to learn all aspects of the business.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, along with the ability to learn company-specific operating platforms.
- Experience in developing expectations with crews to ensure compliance and a high level of customer service.
Environmental Conditions:
- Works in a climate-controlled office.
- May work outdoors on uneven surfaces.
- May be required to sit and stand for long periods.
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, and crouch.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a phone and computer.
- Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.

Salary Range: $135,000.00 to $155,000.00
