Job Summary
The Superintendent holds the responsibility of overseeing daily site construction activities and managing all necessary field personnel to ensure the successful completion of the project within the designated schedule and budget. This encompasses upholding the highest quality standards, supervising trade and field personnel, and implementing effective construction safety practices throughout all on-site activities.
The individual holding this position is required to report to a project site five days a week. It is expected that the individual lives within proximity of the project location or the surrounding areas. Richard Group offers a housing allowance to cover the cost of living if a candidate must relocate.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, direct and supervise all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts
- Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
- Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Conduct on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners and tradesmen.
- Schedule and monitor field productivity.
- Provide mentorship and training to project team.
- Supervise project start up, project completion, and entire close-out process.
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
- Manage and oversee all contractual issues.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships.
- Accurate forecasting of costs for job completion
- Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets
- Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 10-20 years’ experience with a general contracting company
- Open to traveling throughout the U.S.
- A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems
- Experience managing projects $20MM+
- Experience in federal sector projects
- Experience in healthcare projects
- Experience in managing change orders, writing contracts, and building schedules.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam
- Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3-week look-aheads, and other project documents.
- Ability to manage subs in a hard-bid capacity understanding subcontractor contract scope and holding subcontractors to their contracts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running owner meetings.
- Availability to potentially work on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
- Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or an Engineering discipline
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Knowledge or familiarity with EM 385 and CQMC
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Experience managing projects $20MM+
