Target Compensation: $90,000 -$115,000 dependent on experience

Overview  

This position is responsible for managing and implementing quality control systems and procedures for ready-mix concrete production. This includes testing raw materials, monitoring the production process, mix design development and optimization and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. The Ready-Mix QC Manager will lead a team of quality control technicians and work closely with production and operations managers to maintain the highest quality standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Support a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the design and performance of all concrete mixes. Ensure through plant sampling of aggregates, cement, and other materials that they meet established standards. 
• Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished concrete.
• Analyze test results and make recommendations for adjustments in the production process.
• Perform and oversee various tests such as slump tests, air content tests, and strength tests on concrete samples.
• Provides customer support in resolving quality concerns and problems in the field. 
• Assist customers and sales in specifying and submitting correct mix designs for proper applications based on specification and field experience. 
• Schedule field coverage for on-site quality control work as needed dependant on project needs. Assist sales representatives and operations as required. 
• Ensure the QC department is keeping test results filed and logged in computer software for immediate and up to date analysis.
• Manage requirements of ACI and NRMCA certification where required. Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments. Monitor, benchmark and target improvement in quality KPI’s.


Qualifications

Three to five years minimum experience in quality control, quality assurance or operations. 
At least two years of experience in a managerial role, within Ready Mix is required for this role
• An undergraduate degree in engineering, industrial manufacturing, construction management, is preferred. Candidates with significant industry experience will also be considered. 
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and understand technical standards and project specifications.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions to improve operations.
• Excellent people management skills: Ability to develop effective internal and external relations.
• Disciplined and process oriented.
• Must be well versed with the use of Microsoft Excel and QC Software.
• Basic math skills

Supervisory Responsibilities
Will supervise QA/QC Ready Mix employees.
