If you are looking for a position with a stable, successful company, we are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. Project Engineers assist with planning, directing and coordinating technical activities of construction projects to ensure goals and key project deadlines are accomplished.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze projects’ critical activities and milestone dates, anticipating problems/issues that may arise Provide necessary support to resolve them
  • Develop submittal log and RFI log. Solicit, log and check submittals, inclusive of cross-referencing all contract documents to ensure product conformance and proper coordination among trades
  • Maintain an updated Record Set of Contract documents
  • Draft, input and assist in project schedule update
  • Generate and log complete and accurate RFIs
  • Review and verify job cost status reports
  • Document verbal agreements/conversations with subcontractors, owners, architects, etc.
  • Assist Project Manager in purchasing, invoice approval, quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, change orders, quality control and the on-site Safety Program
  • Review subcontractors pay requests
  • Assist in the development of meeting minutes
  • Take weekly job site photos as needed; walk sites several times per week
  • Review, catalog and archive field project files for completed files

Skills and Abilities

Strong understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on construction activities.

Effective written communication and verbal interpersonal skills essential. Must be able to develop written reports, business correspondence and presentation materials. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and team members.

Excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills.

Computer mastery of Windows-based applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Timberline/Sage job costing and PJ module; ability to use iOS apps such as PlanGrid; Raken; BuildUp.

Possess a good driving record.

Reasoning ability: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Education and Experience

Minimum: 5 years’ experience with a general contractor in project engineering capacity or field superintendent level or a four-year degree in construction management; architecture; engineering, etc. or the equivalent combination of education and experience to meet job requirements.
