The Position:
We are looking for an experienced Fiber Technician for various projects that complements ISC’s culture of integrity.
Applicants should have the ability to:
- Install single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables in an industrial construction environment
- Fusion splicing, verification testing, troubleshooting and fiber optic cable repair
- Installing support structures (ladders racks, j-hooks, cable trays etc.)
- Perform fiber tests with OTDR’s, light source and meters
- Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures
- Responsible for day to day operations and maintenance of company equipment
Qualifications:
- TWIC card - (Transportation Worker Identification Credential); Go to TWIC website for more information
- Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test5+ years of experience of installing, terminating and/or splicing fiber in an industrial environment
- Must be proficient in splicing, terminating Anaerobic connectors and/or Unicam connectors
- Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and line diagrams
- Fiber certificates (installer, designer, etc.), a plus
