Job Title: Mechanic

Job Type: Full-Time, 50 hour work week, 10 hour shifts – 5 days per week

Salary: $20 - $28 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and equipment.

Job Summary: The Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a wide range of construction equipment and vehicles. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and trucks.
• Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint problems and implement effective solutions.
• Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor time.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with equipment operators and project managers to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Keep the workshop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and supplies.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior mechanics or apprentices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanic in the construction industry or a similar field.
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment and vehicle systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from a vocational school or trade program in mechanics or a related field..
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
