We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and equipment.
Job Summary: The Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a wide range of construction equipment and vehicles. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and trucks.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint problems and implement effective solutions.
- Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor time.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with equipment operators and project managers to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and supplies.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior mechanics or apprentices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanic in the construction industry or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment and vehicle systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a vocational school or trade program in mechanics or a related field..
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
