Role & Responsibilities
• Observations, monitoring and testing for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Ability to understand and read plans and specifications that are applicable to the inspection duties and requirements.
• Knowledge of the California Building Code (CBC), International Building Code (IBC), ASTM Standards, ACI Standards and AWS Standards.
• Inspect rebar reinforcement, sample concrete, perform batch plant inspection, inspect field and shop welding, and inspect masonry on a regular basis.
• Occasionally perform earthwork and pavement compaction testing as needed.
• Ability to clearly write daily field reports and non-conformance reports.
• Exercise high levels of ethics.
• Have and maintain a clean driving record.
• Work dispatched reasonably close to home.
• Anticipated travel could be up to two hours daily on average. Travel is paid, minus commute time to home office, to and from project sites.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Have or be willing to acquire ICC Soils, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Structural Steel, ICC Reinforced Masonry, ICC Fireproofing, ACI Level I Technician, AWS, CWI, NDT, testing and Nuclear Gauge certifications in a timely fashion.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Driver’s License, maintain a clean driving record.
• Position eligible for prevailing wage compensation on publicly funded projects.

• Ability to understand and read plans and specifications that are applicable to the inspection duties and requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with guidance from supervisor and oversight engineer(s).

Schedule:
• 8-hour shifts but can vary depending on workload.
• May require weekend and nightshift work on a periodic basis.
Experience:
• Construction Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
• Driver's License (Required)
• ICC Inspector, ACI, and Caltrans Certifications (Preferred for some positions)

• You will be based within Alameda or San Joaquin County and will cover projects primarily, but not limited to, the Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Joaquin County, and Stanislaus County, and possibly Sacramento County.
