RICHARD is currently looking to fill a Lead Field Project Controls position.

Hours per week: 40 - 50 hours per week

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for cost, cost forecasting, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling. Directs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule alignment, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities. Directs the preparation and presentation of on-project cost forecasts. Supports project organizational and administrative activities. Provides generally non-routine cost/planning and scheduling guidance. Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost and planning/scheduling problems. Responsible for weekly progress and reporting. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • The Individual must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the chemical, refining, or other industrial manufacturing industries
  • 3 - 5 years related work experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost engineering
  • 3 - 5 years Primavera P6 experience and scheduling in a construction environment is an asset
  • Previous capital project experience from working in a chemical plant, a refinery, oil and gas production, construction of major facilities, or government construction projects is a plus
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in cost functions, including cost estimating, forecasting, cost controls, and cost analysis in the field is required
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Control activities
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to Management and Clients
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of cost accounting and engineering practices, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) creation and management
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office, including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and perform complex functions with Excel
  • Proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Share Point
  • Experience with project control tracking, forecasting, scheduling
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with management and clients in verbal, written, and electronic form

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective execution of the Project Controls programs on an assigned project in accordance with Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) Project Controls Department Procedures
  • Directs project controls activities
  • Executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost and schedule control and analysis activities
  • Prepares the Project Controls plan for assigned projects
  • Provides leadership in terms of integrating the risk management process with other key project procedures (e.g., Change Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims)
  • Responsible for Contruction Progress reporting
