Job Description: The Robotic Weld Technician is responsible for keeping the robot cell fully operational and productive with no negative impact to manufacturing. This person must be able to assist the Robotic Programmer with programing the robot cell to efficiently manufacture product with little scrap or repair loss. This position must be able to communicate issues to upper management for improvements or recommendations.
Hours: M-R 2:00pm - 12:00pm (OT as required)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure robot has maximum uptime and produces weld quality that meet or exceeds UAI standards. Excellent troubleshooting skills in order to maintain robot operation. Must be able to trouble shoot and determine root cause of any robot issue in order to be proactive in keeping robot fully operational. This may include, but not limited to, faulty or broken equipment, tooling issues, operator error, weld wire issues and part variations.
- Responsible for assisting the Robotic Programmer in touching up new and existing programs
- Must communicate with production staff to ensure kit availability
- Must establish standards to ensure each weld operator is tacking and welding parts consistently before moving to the robot cell
- Responsible for training and educating Robotic Weld Utility
- Identify manufacturing problem areas, and assist in resolving manufacturing issues
- Must be willing to attend offsite (out of state) training classes
- Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High school diploma plus an additional 2-year technical college degree
- 2-3 years minimum experience operating robotic equipment
- 2+ years of AWS welding experience preferred
- Excellent blueprint reading skills required
- Proficient computer skills are required (MS Office, CAD, CAM, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no supervision
- A sense of urgency with the ability to meet timelines
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist.
