Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the fleet, parts/equipment inventory and supplies.  This includes training and supervising staff, maintaining appropriate records and providing associated statistics and reports.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Accomplishes warehouse objectives by selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and provides input to the annual review process.
  • Meets warehouse / Fleet operational standards by developing and providing information; Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards and resolving problems.
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space and yard areas for efficient material storage and handling, including labeling, stocking and organizing
  • Plans, organizes, and implements inventory operations and procedures including monthly physical counts; supervises physical inventory count and variance reconciliation; Provides proper accounting for year-end-adjustment to General Ledger
  • Supervises the Issue of supplies, materials and equipment to Fox employees and receipt of delivered supplies, materials and equipment from suppliers including proper documentation of all activities external and internal to the inventory data system.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing vehicle and equipment maintenance services
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment fuel and maintenance records and repair costs providing reports as requested.
  • Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by scheduling, forecasting and surveying current user trends
  • Monitor and ensure fleet operation in compliance with local and state rules and regulations.
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) files in an up-to-date status, and distributes individual sheets on an as-needed basis.
  • Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and employees adhere to safety policies and principles.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff
  • Performs other duties as required.

Skill Sets Needed:

  • Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: Filling and shipping orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities.
  • Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
  • Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.

 Qualifications Needed:

  • Fleet, Warehousing and Inventory methods, practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Develop, interpret and explain pertinent regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders.
  • Education & experience: Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant warehouse / fleet / inventory experience (including 2+ years of supervisory experience), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
