Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The Assistant Estimator supports the Estimators and Estimating team by ensuring the accuracy and quality of bid takeoffs and quantity comparisons. This role contributes to building competitive bids by analyzing project specifications and assisting with bid-related processes.
Responsibilities:
- Bid Documentation Management: Ensure complete and organized documentation.
- Download and manage plans, specifications, and addenda.
- Prepare, print, and organize bid documents.
- Maintain project tracking, including calendars, Tapani Maps, and bid folders.
- Update systems, processes, and software as directed.
- Subcontractor and Supplier Engagement: Facilitate competitive bidding through effective communication.
- Use solicitation software to upload documents and solicit quotes.
- Track subcontractor and supplier quotes and maintain relationships.
- Provide feedback to the Estimator on subcontractor and supplier communications.
- Accurate and Detailed Takeoffs: Generate comprehensive project data for competitive bids.
- Perform takeoffs using Planswift and other estimating tools.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
- Quantify bid items, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings.
- Team Communication and Coordination: Promote seamless collaboration within the estimating team.
- Regularly update Estimators on project progress and bid priorities.
- Stay informed about regulations, software updates, and industry trends.
- Seek personal and professional development opportunities.
- Bid Submission Support: Ensure timely and accurate bid preparation.
- Set up projects in bidding software and manage submission processes.
- Verify bids are complete, responsive, and submitted on time.

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $23.94 - $35.92 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
