NEXT Electric, LLC seeking full-time Electrical Estimator in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Job Summary
Estimating
- Prepare complete cost estimates for all types of electrical projects.
- Understand/monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines.
- Schedule/attend field walk-through with customer, subcontractor and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements.
- Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders.
- Follow-up at end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process.
- Prepare work to be estimated: gathering proposals, drawings, specifications and related documents.
- Consult with customers and project managers to gather information to prepare estimates.
- Obtain bids from vendors and components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Attend job site walkthroughs as necessary.
Project Management
- Prepare project construction schedules.
- Submit Request for Information to clients.
- Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
- Keep emphasis on the client by developing an understanding of the client’s culture, key people and processes.
- Assist construction personnel throughout the project life-cycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimate.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years’ related experience or equivalent education, technical training and experience.
- Accubid/LiveCount and/or Construction Environment experience a plus.
- Proficient PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
- Communication - Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums.
- Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- Time Management: Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles, and drug-test as may be required per federal or client contract, or DOT policy.
