Constructors, Inc., a subsidiary of NEBCO, Inc. (“Company”), needs 15 temporary Construction Site Laborers from 04/01/2025 – 11/30/2025 for work at various worksites in the following counties in Nebraska: Douglas, Adams, Hall, Hamilton, Gage, Stanton, York, Dodge, Saunders, Fillmore, Saline, Cuming, Butler, Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Richardson, Merrick, Platte, Thayer, Howard, Colfax, Polk, Washington, Sarpy, Pawnee, Jefferson, Clay, Lancaster, Seward, Nance, Burt, Thurston, Otoe, and Madison. Work is full-time; Monday – Friday; 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; at least 45 hrs/week; Company uses a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due; workers paid every week. Pay is at least $24.66/hr - $29.70/hr (higher rates possible based on experience or skill) with applicable benefits. Workers are eligible for overtime pay of at least $36.99/hr - $44.55/hr, equal to one and one-half times the regular hourly rate for all hours over 40 in a given workweek, which may be available based on weather conditions and business needs (historic average is approximately 11 hours per week in peak of busy season). If requested by workers, Company will assist with securing adequate housing for the temporary season plus utilities in employer-owned and/or employer-rented housing at a rate of approximately $138.56 per person per pay period. Company will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law, plus $138.56 per person per pay period for housing expenses for employees who choose them. Company will also provide a $100.00 advance, which will be deducted from future paychecks.
Job duties include the following: Assist crews with the general construction of concrete surfaces of roads, heavy highways, bridges, and parking lots performing tasks including concrete puddling, finishing concrete, and placing wet burlap on the finished concrete. With respect to bridges, duties are limited to assisting with pouring and smoothing concrete on the bridge deck / surface as well as as the same tasks and using the same materials with respect to the approach area to the bridge. Assist work crews with concrete forms and/or asphalt paving in construction and maintenance activities including quality control. “Quality control” duties are limited to following instruction from supervisors and other crew members to ensure finished product is consistent with commitment to company quality standards. Intermittent operation (i.e., utilization and manipulation) of hand held job-related equipment and related tools at job site, as needed, including concrete rakes, concrete floats, and shovels. (Will not operate heavy construction equipment.) Must observe and practice safety standards and policies of the department. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Follow and adhere to such company safety policies and procedures to ensure that manual labor duties of position are performed in a manner that is consistent with the company’s obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act. Adhere to safety standards established by the company. Other duties as assigned. No certifications or licensures required.
Company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job to workers at no charge. The costs of transportation (including subsistence and, to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed upon arrival (subject to repayment to Company if the workers do not complete at least one-half of the employment period). Company will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, that are actually incurred by the workers (other than those fees primarily for the benefit of the workers). Upon completion of the work contract or where a worker is dismissed earlier, Company will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts. Normal work-related travel within normal commuting distance / area of intended employment as necessary based on business needs; daily transportation to individual worksites may be provided depending on location. Company guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
