Position Overview
Coastline Equipment is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to join our team. This leadership position will be responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a high-performing sales team across our branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, with a passion for fostering customer relationships, optimizing sales processes, and driving business growth. This role will require travel, team development, and a strong focus on achieving both company and branch objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Sales Management and Coaching: Lead and coach the sales team to ensure the implementation of effective sales processes and strategies. Travel with outside sales personnel weekly to assess performance and strengthen customer relationships.

Performance Evaluation: Conduct monthly evaluations with sales professionals, focusing on call scheduling, sales certification, and overall performance. Complete biannual evaluations to assess branch and company performance, including sales volume, unit sales, market share, and business plan targets.

Meetings and Training: Organize and lead monthly or bi-monthly branch sales meetings to discuss market conditions, competitive analysis, and internal programs. Provide ongoing training to ensure continuous professional development and share best practices within the team and across the company.

Sales Process and Customer Experience: Ensure consistent implementation of sales processes to drive optimal financial, market, and customer performance. Collaborate with Parts Managers, Service Managers, Dispatchers, and the Corporate Used Equipment Manager to ensure a seamless and best-in-class customer experience.

Recruitment and Staffing: Assist the Branch Manager and corporate recruiting team with the recruitment and staffing of sales professionals, ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet sales goals.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels as directed by the Corporate office, ensuring product availability and minimizing shortages.
Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field preferred.

Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales management role, with a proven track record of coaching and developing sales teams.

Sales Management Expertise: Strong background in sales department operations, with the ability to create development plans and training schedules for sales professionals.

Software Proficiency: Comfortable using standard office software such as Microsoft Office and CRM systems for tracking and reporting purposes.

Report Analysis: Ability to interpret and analyze internal sales reports to assess team performance and guide business strategies.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage individuals and groups effectively.

Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a focus on enhancing customer relationships and driving satisfaction.
Work Environment

Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required to meet business needs.

Travel: The role requires weekly travel with outside sales staff, so a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening are required.
