Key Responsibilities 

  • Answer helpdesk calls and directs to appropriate person or department. Supplies information or generates IT work orders.
  • Coordinate/schedule meetings, appointments and activities. Maintain department files and run reports. 
  • Assist users with configuration and use of desktop/laptop computers. Notifies users of system problems and follow-up to ensure proper resolution.
  • Assist users with creating publications and other complex documents using various levels of desktop publishing.
  • Ensures availability of printing supplies and equipment inventory for the department.

 

Knowledge and Skills for Success

A successful Helpdesk Specialist has

  • Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software use, installation and configuration.
  • Knowledge of techniques in setting up/testing PC operating and data communication systems.
  • Knowledge of operation, maintenance and performance capabilities of hardware and software.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Data entry and basic clerical skills.
  • The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • One (1) year of PC desktop and office management support experience
  • Two (2) years of printing related experience 
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
