Prescott, Arizona – Fann Contracting, Inc - Northern Arizona’s leading civil contractor - is searching for an experienced Boot Truck Operator (Asphalt Distributer) to join our team for local and statewide projects. Preference given to candidates with 3 or more years of experience with BEARCAT hot asphalt distributor's for highway paving operations. Annual wage may range between $60K to $95K or more DOE. This is a fulltime, permanent position with benefits. Subsistence (travel pay) of 70 to $80 per day is often available when you travel for work please ask for details.
The Asphalt Distributor Operator's primary function is to operate the asphalt distributor truck applying hot liquid asphalt prior to an area being paved. The operator must safely perform daily maintenance checks on the hot oil equipment and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. In addition, the operator may be required to perform minor repairs to the equipment and is expected to assist in the general operation at each job site.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
- Filling asphalt and burner fuel tanks.
- Setting, maintaining and cleaning spray nozzles.
- Spraying asphalt joints on highways and other surfaces.
- Cleaning excess asphalt out of tanks, and from spray bars.
- Driving company vehicles.
- Light maintenance of sprayer and vehicle.
- Must be registered with the Federal DOT/FMCSA Clearinghouse for CDL Drivers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsement.
- Must have a clean MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD.
- Must have a thorough understanding of ELDs and DOT paper log requirements.
- Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Hard working, motivated, self-starter who is willing to work until the job is done.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and be mechanically inclined.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site.
- Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places (while using fall protection), fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions.
- Able to climb in/out of the truck, stairs, and ladders.
- Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis.
- Statewide travel is frequently necessary; 4 to 6 days per week possible (subsistence pay available).
- Working alone at night and sometimes on weekends. Shifts may vary.
- High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of distributor truck experience within the asphalt paving industry.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the oversight of any other teammates or employees but the successful candidate will work well in a team environment to get the job done.

This is an permanent, full-time, hourly wage position.

Primarily limited to job locations throughout Arizona.
