Your Role as the General Manager:
As the General Manager at American Air, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations, driving business growth, and ensuring the overall success of the company. Your focus will be on maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction, optimizing operational efficiency, enhancing profitability, and fostering a high-performing team. You will lead a dynamic team of professionals and technicians, ensuring that all services are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities for a General Manager:
Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical departments, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and local codes for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and quality.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians, administrative staff, and managers across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the company’s budget, ensuring profitability and financial health.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, costs, and profit margins, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee pricing strategies and ensure competitive yet profitable pricing models for services.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop strategies to expand the customer base and market presence.
Business Development & Growth:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop business strategies for growth, including identifying new market opportunities and client prospects.
- Evaluate and implement opportunities for service expansion, including new geographic areas, technologies, or service offerings.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Manage project schedules, resources, and coordination with contractors and suppliers.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Implement safety protocols and monitor adherence to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Manage risk and quality control processes to minimize errors and maintain high standards of service delivery.
Qualifications for a General Manager:
- 10+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, project management, and industry standards.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale commercial HVAC projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients to achieve project goals.
- Certification in HVAC (EPA certification) is a plus.
- Experience with budgeting, contract negotiation, and client relations.
