The pay range for this position is $18.50-25.50 paid hourly, offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.  

Role and Responsibilities

Analyst I (Chemistry)
Sample Analysis - Performs assigned sample determination utilizing various analytical equipment, basic instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques, in accordance with standard operating procedures, including analysis, data evaluation, and reporting, ensuring that all method required quality control protocols be met. 
Analytical duties may include: 
• Reviewing sample work list and scheduling daily work, maintaining regular laboratory turn-around time including priority sample scheduling. 
• Preparing samples according to standard operating procedures. 
• Preparing calibration and quality control standards. 
• Perform analytical steps in accordance with standard operating procedures. 
• Record quality control standards preparation, weight of samples, dilutions, spiked sample preparations, and analytical sequences in the appropriate logbooks/Element. 
• Review results to verify that minimum quality control requirements are met, calculate results, and report results in Element. 
• Submit raw data packages for approval, according to department procedures. 
• Maintain quality control charts, as required by each method. 
• Report analytical results and quality control data in a manner that maximizes efficiency. 
Maintain equipment: 
• Maintain instrumentation and equipment on a regular basis. 
• Notify technical services and department supervisor when equipment failure occurs, or when major maintenance is required. 
• Document all maintenance in appropriate logbooks. 
Supplies: 
• Ensure there is sufficient supply of consumables, including reagents, standards, disposable items, and parts. 
• Order all required items through the supply ordering process. 
Documentation used (when applicable): 
• Standards log book for calibration standard preparation, spiking and surrogate solutions, etc. 
• Method Run (sequence) logs.
• Sample preparation/extraction logs.
• Instrument maintenance logs.
• Media logs.
• Refrigerators, freezers and incubators temperature logs. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Chemistry or related Science field
  • 0-5 years’ experience
