Job Purpose: To maintain cleanliness of fleet vehicles and equipment as well as the shop grounds and the surrounding areas in an orderly and clean condition.

 Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains cleanliness of the fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains company yard and grounds free of clutter and organizes similar items together.
  • Collects rubbish and sweeps visitor parking areas and sidewalks.
  • Cleans and maintains shop areas.
  • Loads and unloads merchandise and equipment from trucks.
  • Operates a straight mast and reach-style forklift as needed.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for maintenance duties.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA Regulations and fire codes.
  • Notifies Management concerning the need for major repairs and/or potentially serious problems.
  • Acts as a back-up driver to the Parts Runner as needed.
  • Use of company vehicle to pick up supplies and parts as needed.
  • Assists shop and field personnel with assignments and projects as needed.
  • Adheres to all Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, procedures, and instructions from Management.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Washing heavy construction equipment with power washer at the wash rack.

Work Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words.
  • Possesses the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Uses logical step-by-step procedures and has the ability to work independently.
  • Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.
  • Ability to operate a power washer.
  • Ability to operate forklift.
  • Holds a valid Drivers License with a clean driving record 

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) months' experience in maintaining fleet vehicles, AND 
  • Minimum of six (6) months’ experience maintaining grounds; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as determined by the hiring manager.
