The Payroll Clerk is responsible for maintaining and upholding courteous, satisfactory, and efficient completion of all assigned duties. This position coordinates and completes various office services such as scanning documents, validating payroll time entry, filing certified payroll, auditing reports and processes, and other related tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

  • File and scan all employee paperwork to their employee file
  • Process and set up garnishments
  • Audit monthly statements and billing
  • Complete all employment verifications
  • Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees
  • Maintain human resource files
  • Log all reprimands and correct payroll deductions
  • Organize all lease vehicle, auto, and insurance paperwork
  • File tax reports
  • Maintain PTO and Floating Holiday reporting 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistent and able to uphold a high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of general payroll functions
  • Previous experience in JD Edwards is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Understanding and ability to adhere to generally accepted HR policies and principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Management, Payroll, or related field required
  • One to three years of payroll experience required
  • Certified payroll experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing while working on a computer
