Who We're Looking For:

Our Company continues to expand, and this IT position will be our first dedicated in-house IT role. With that, we need an individual who can grow our IT space and take the initiative in assisting our Company in identifying best practices, establishing processes and procedures, and identifying and mitigating risks. This individual should be prepared to communicate with end users tech savvy and non-alike while establishing a relationship as the trusted go to IT support individual.

POSITION

The IT & Security Manager will assist with a broad range of IT & administrative security support, including coordinating alongside our 3rd party IT company, troubleshooting, Company IT projects, working with outside business partners and internal end users. This role will support the organization's technology infrastructure and facility security, including hardware, software, networks, user support, security access, and ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage & monitor facility security including alarm panel, key card access points, and cameras.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve users' troubles with computer software, hardware, and network-related issues through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools, software and/or following verbal instructions and collaborating with outside IT company to resolve.
  • Field support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns not already handled by 3rd party IT support.
  • Work alongside 3rd party IT Company to maintain and troubleshoot laptop computers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Manage in-house inventory and life cycle of IT & security equipment from purchase to disposal.
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, and cloud services alongside 3rd party IT Company.
  • Install, configure, manage, and update software and operating systems, user accounts, access rights, and permissions across various platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange, etc.) while coordinating with 3rd party IT Company.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes including device provisioning, account set up, and access rights.
  • Ensure data backups and disaster recovery protocols are in place and functioning.
  • Enforce and support cybersecurity best practices and security policies, including providing or assisting with end-user security training.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging security threats, technical challenges, and developments in system protection and IT security standards.
  • Manage and work on assigned IT & security projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, cost analysis, and scope of work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with and collaborate with external IT & security vendors and service providers.

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position demands occupation in an office environment that regularly uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 25 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
  • Employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

 

EXPECTED POSITION HOURS

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand, and with prior approval.
  • Some travel may be expected to our Nevada location or other(s) with prior approval.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience (see requirement below)
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on IT support experience (help desk, systems administration, or IT generalist role)
  • Experience working with or alongside a managed service provider (MSP) or 3rd-party IT company.
  • Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations (50-300 users preferred)
  • Experience with physical security systems (key card access, camera systems, alarm panels) preferred.

 

Technical Experience & Competencies

  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Azure AD, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, user provisioning, MFA, and access management
  • Experience managing Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11; Windows Server exposure preferred)
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers)
  • Experience with endpoint management and lifecycle (imaging, provisioning, decommissioning)
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices (MFA, phishing awareness, endpoint protection, patching)
  • Experience supporting printers and peripheral devices.
  • Experience managing IT asset inventory.

Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or Administrator Associate
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
