Summary
Responsible for managing the daily operations of the asphalt manufacturing plant. This includes the production of hot mix asphalt, equipment maintenance, material inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The operator plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain efficient production and product quality.
- Adhere to and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, along with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Ability to operate an asphalt plant and various pieces of heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers.
- Perform general maintenance and inspection on the equipment and manage a crew responsible for operating and maintaining an asphalt plant.
- Communicate with customers, brokers, and foremen daily, and order material necessary for the continual operation of the plant.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or (GED) required
- (3) to five (5) years of operating an asphalt plant preferred
- MS Office & automated plant systems preferred
- Able to work outdoors in all seasons
- Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and unexpected longer hours when necessary
- Team-oriented attitude
COMPENSATION PACKAGE AS REPLACEMENT WORKER
- Base Wage $40.43 per hour
- Vacation $ 5.00 per hour
- 401k (company contribution) $11.60 per hour
- Includes health care coverage for employee and family
- Applies to all hours on all projects worked
