Their key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Gathering details and compiling data to estimate all production costs, including labor, material, equipment, and time requirements
  • Reading blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
  • Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to understand the scope of work and required materials
  • Consulting with industry experts to gain a better understanding of labor and material costs
  • Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses
  • Preparing and submitting financial estimates and bids for construction Projects
  • Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs
  • Adjusting cost estimates as necessary when designs change or project scope is adjusted
  • Evaluating the profitability and viability of a product or service
  • Conducting risk analysis to mitigate cost overrun
  • Using sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience estimating Electrical Industrial Construction Projects
  • Proven work experience as a Construction Cost Estimator or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Experience with cost estimation software
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • BSc degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field
