Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator II to lead high-value bids. They will use their technical expertise and leadership skills to align estimates with both client expectations and company profitability goals. They'll play a key part in the preconstruction process, mentoring junior estimators and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts for large-scale, complex projects with full accountability for accuracy and profitability.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators in their technical and professional development.
  • Conduct final reviews of bid documents to ensure accuracy and alignment with company strategy.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to align estimates with project scope and financial targets.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to manage risk and achieve the best value.
  • Utilize data-driven tools to analyze historical cost data and market trends.
  • Develop structured bid packages that clearly communicate project value.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in electrical preconstruction estimating leading high value bids over $1M.
  • Journeyman license (Colorado or Wyoming) or an accredited engineering degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred).
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Accubid or similar estimating software.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (switchgear, transformers, power distribution).
  • Proficiency with project tracking tools like Smartsheet.
  • Expertise in cost modeling, risk mitigation, and value engineering.
  • Advanced financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and escalation projections.Strong negotiation, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of construction contracts and compliance.
