Job Description:  THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION - LOCATED IN OFFICE - SALEM NH

We are an established architectural millwork manufacturer specializing in architectural woodwork and commercial casework for medical, financial, educational, hospitality, and other commercial environments seeking an AutoCAD engineer.  This position will create CNC programs from construction drawings, material assignments and take-offs using Cabinet Vision 11 and AutoCAD 2016 software. Willing to train the right candidate for Cabinet Vision software usage.

Job Requirements: 

 

  • Draft and create shop drawings for a variety of millwork applications to be used in construction of commercial buildings.
  • Self-audit drawings for accuracy and update as needed with revisions from architects.
  • Work with colleagues to coordinate work and translate drawings into production flow and alter plans as necessary
  • Meet with Estimating to review details of incoming jobs
  • Coordinate with project managers to create shop drawings and bill of materials based on job schedules
  • Ensure shop drawings for all millwork applications are in accordance with job’s architectural drawings and specifications
  • Follow company approved best practices and construction methods
  • Use engineering software to support production with material requisitions and machining files.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years experience in architectural millwork or custom woodworking environment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD to draft shop drawings for millwork, including ability to work in 2D AutoCAD for preparation of submittal and production drawings per understanding of architectural blueprints.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret architectural drawings and specs
  • Thorough understanding of nested CNC controlled three axis router work.
  • Solid understanding of materials, hardware, and best practices construction methods.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office outlook, excel, word as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic and willing to learn and overcome obstacles
  • Work well both independently and with other employees throughout the company
  • Experience with Cabinet Vision preferred but not necessary.
