Position Summary
The Electrical Test Technician will perform product testing, diagnostics, validation, and end-of-line testing procedures to ensure the reliability and quality of electronic display and control systems. This is a hands-on technical role that requires collaboration with engineering, production, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct functional, performance, and quality testing on digital display and control hardware/software systems.
- Diagnose and document faults in hardware, firmware, or software; assist with root cause analysis.
- Support engineering teams in verifying design changes, prototypes, and production samples.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment and lab tools for accurate results.
- Prepare detailed test reports and maintain testing logs and documentation.
- Assist the production team in product validation before deployment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for test processes and quality control.
- Ensure all products comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience with electronic testing and measurement tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Familiarity with embedded systems, micro-controllers, or LED display/traffic control systems preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience creating test plans, documentation, and technical reports.
- Ability to read and interpret a psychrometric chart to determine temperature/humidity conditions.
- Experience generating temperature/humidity tests for thermal chambers.
- Familiarity with Photometric Analysis and Environmental Controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Python or LabVIEW is preferred.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle components and test equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in both laboratory and production environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with software/firmware testing tools.
- Understanding of networked electronic systems or traffic control technologies.
- Familiarity with safety standards for electronic devices.
