We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

ASPHALT PLANT GROUND LABORER

Summary: An asphalt plant ground laborer that works in the construction industry, usually in the asphalt plant. The plant ground laborer is usually engaged in the practical aspects in the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

 Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

Properly follow all OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project.

Maintain cleanliness of yard or plant.

Operate various types of equipment such as skid steer, man lift, forklift, etc.

Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.

Perform servicing and maintenance of plant.

Grease bearings on plant and conveyors and check oil levels on gearboxes.

Unload asphalt tankers, lime trucks, etc.

Perform maintenance on plant equipment as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:  

One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

Experience with conveyor belts preferred

Mechanical experience preferred

MSHA certified preferred

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and working in high, precarious places.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
