Job Summary
Seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion of heavy industrial construction projects. They will play a critical part in delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. They will serve as the primary liaison between the manufacturing company, industrial/manufacturing customers, subcontractors, and internal Design/Build teams to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects through all phases, including pre-construction, execution, and post-construction, while collaborating closely with heavy industrial customers and internal Design/Build teams.
- Prepare accurate bid proposals using approved design specifications, follow up with customers to secure project commitments, and establish project budgets, schedules, timelines, and performance goals.
- Implement and enforce the company’s Risk Control Plan and lead all job-site safety initiatives in coordination with safety personnel and site leadership.
- Obtain required permits and ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while adhering to all safety requirements including proper use of PPE.
- Conduct routine site visits to monitor progress, budget status, and safety compliance while tracking, analyzing, and documenting productivity metrics for site leadership.
- Develop, schedule, and manage subcontractors, vendors, and project resources while ensuring the availability of required equipment, tools, materials, and manpower.
- Prepare purchase orders (POs), approve labor hours and expenses, manage invoicing and receivables, and complete all administrative documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate regularly with customers, project teams, field staff, and subcontractors to maintain alignment with scope, schedule, and budget for complete satisfaction.
- Utilize project management software to prepare documentation and reports while maintaining accurate records of completed projects for future reference.
- Ensure project compliance with quality assurance (QA/QC) standards and collaborate with the Design/Build team on means-and-methods engineering controls.
- Oversee project closeout, including punch list development, completion, and documentation, while representing the organization professionally and positively at all times.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, perform additional duties as assigned, and consistently follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience estimating and managing heavy industrial construction projects, with a strong focus on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Primavera.
- Ability to complete and maintain required certifications, including OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and SafeStart.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across the United States.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required due to project deadlines and operational demands.
- On-site presence at construction locations is essential.
- Must consistently follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
