PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform various accounting tasks to insure accurate and timely completion of work within one or more sections, such as accounts payable, payroll, or general accounting.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Make practical applications found in accounting standards and procedures for routine transactions.
- Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of one or more sections, such as payroll, accounts payable, general accounting, or a subordinate section. May supervise an area within a section.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll; process and place in line for payment vendor or contractor invoices; client invoice preparation, equipment rental accounting, backcharges, bank reconciliation, etc.
- Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other sections, departments, vendors (contractors), and clients.
- Make recommendations to the supervisor for cost effective methods of accomplishing specific functions.
- Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
- Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year
business/accounting degree plus minimum five (5) years construction
accounting experience or equivalent combinations of training and
experience.
- Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing,
payroll and invoicing required. Good written and verbal
communication skills are essential.
- Experience with Foundation Accounting Software preferred
