Job Description

S.A. Comunale, a leading fire protection contractor has an immediate opportunity available for a Field Coordinator at our branch office located in Glen Burnie, MD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Assist with daily manpower scheduling and tracking.
  • Process and receive all orders for material and/or fabrication, including blue ticket, vendor, and shop orders.
  • Work with the fabrication shop to schedule fabrication for delivery, including back orders and missed shipments.
  • Process lift rentals with the equipment coordinator as needed.
  • Fulfill daily needs of fitters, including test papers, work tickets, envelopes, markers, etc.
  • Responsible for customer interface between project managers and field operations.
  • Coordinate and attend pre-start and construction meetings.
  • Schedule hydrostatic, dry trip tests, and fire pump tests.
  • Obtain paperwork from the field and distribute to appropriate departments for processing, including work tickets, test papers, expense receipts, payroll information, packing lists, signed off punchlists, and union apprenticeship applications.
  • Process payroll for fitters when the Office Manager is off.
  • Responsible for all field employee paperwork and requirements, including new hire paperwork, safety paperwork, drug testing & physicals set up, and layoff checks.
  • Perform basic clerical work for the Field Operation department, including filing and answering phones.
  • Maintain and submit reports to Corporate, including change order log, lift and tool rental report, completed contract and S contract report, and Advancement Fund timesheets.
  • Process paperwork for contract jobs, including billings, LEED submittals, permit submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, invoices, and training requirements.
  • Assist with subcontractor scheduling.
  • Process all material returns, including direct to vendors or to Corporate shop.
  • Order, release, and track all fire pumps.
  • Track permit charges for Columbus SOFT account and job charge accordingly, for contract and service.
  • Work with Corporate to process all Fleet repairs, accidents, changes, and license plate renewals.
  • Document field employee disciplinary warning letters, at-fault lay offs and dismissals with Corporate, JATC, and BA.
  • Notify JATC and BA when an apprentice is being reassigned for out-of-state or district work and loaners.

Qualifications

  • One to three years previous experience in the fire protection or construction industry.

 

  • Excellent computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills.

 

  • Proven organizational skills and the demeanor to function in a fast-paced environment.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (i.e. Word, and particularly Excel.)
