POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Foreman is responsible for ensuring all electrical installations meet company standards, project specifications, and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. This role oversees quality control scheduling aligned with project phases, conducts regular job walks and audits, identifies and resolves non-conformances, and communicates QC status to key stakeholders. The QA/QC Foreman maintains and updates living standards for Means and Methods, drives continuous improvement, and supports field teams through training and proactive quality oversight

HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITES

Schedule According to Jobsite Phases

  • Develop a detailed quality control schedule aligned with project phases (OH, IW, UG, TRIM
  • Coordinate with project managers to integrate QC checkpoints into the master schedule.
  • Conduct pre-phase QC planning meetings to identify critical milestones and potential risks.
  • Monitor and adjust QC schedules weekly to reflect project progress and delays.

Job Walks

  • Conduct regular job walks to inspect electrical installations for quality, NEC compliance, and Safety.
  • Use standardized checklists to document findings during job walks on Plangrid using the stamp color code system
  • Identify and report non-conformances immediately, with clear corrective action plans over email, send the generated report from PlanGrid.
  • Engage with foremen and during walks to address issues on-site and provide guidance.
  • Follow up on previously identified issues within 72 hours to verify resolution.

Manage Staff to Achieve Project Quality Control & Assurance

  • Ensure all installations follow K2 standards.
  • Ensure foreman is utilizing prefab to meet company minimum utilization standards.
  • Evaluate foreman skill sets for coaching needs, participate in performance discussions with foreman
  • Develop installation crews to maximize installation efficiency and minimize quality control mistakes.
  • Verify foreman is tracking requirements for quality, timeliness, and code, per Architect/Designer & AHJ.
  • Ensure installation matches request for information (RFI) responses, SKE directives and delta revisions

Communicating to Stakeholders

  • Provide weekly QC status reports to WFP to update White Board
  • Document all critical communications (e.g., non-conformance reports, schedule changes) in a shared project management system.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries regarding QC within 24 hours.
  • Communicate QC expectations and communication protocols during PPS

Managing Living Standards for Means and Methods and NEC Code

  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, K2 Means and Methods
  • Review and approve electrical plans and specifications for NEC compliance before work begins.
  • Conduct random audits of installations to verify compliance with Means and Methods and NEC requirements.
  • Maintain a living document of QC standards, updated monthly to reflect lessons learned and code changes.
  • Train team members on NEC updates and project-specific Means and Methods at least quarterly.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to inspect electrical installations and identify non-conformances
  • Experience reading and reviewing electrical plans and specifications
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to align quality control with project schedules
  • Clear communication with field teams and leadership
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience. 
  • Prior experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or Senior Electrician preferred
  • Experience performing quality inspections or compliance audits
  • Experience reviewing electrical plans and specifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of NEC in the field
  • Experience working within structured construction project phases
  • Experience coordinating with Project Managers and Field Leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year
  • Able to Climb ladders (all types) and work from scaffolds and lifts.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 51 pounds unassisted
