We are currently seeking an Affordable Housing Trainer!
The Affordable Housing Trainer leads all training initiatives across HUD, LIHTC, and specialized affordable housing programs for a national portfolio. This role ensures property teams, compliance staff, and community managers receive comprehensive education on regulatory requirements, company policies, and operational systems. The Trainer will deliver both in-person and virtual training sessions, leveraging virtual platforms and tools to ensure accessibility and engagement. This position plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory excellence and operational consistency across all affordable housing communities.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs for HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing programs.
- Conduct large group sessions, webinars, and individualized training for property managers, compliance staff, and leadership.
- Provide hands-on training and mentoring at sites requiring additional support, including new community manager transitions.
- Maintain and update training materials to reflect current regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Comfortably navigate virtual training platforms and ensure effective delivery of remote sessions.
- Stay current on HUD, LIHTC, and other affordable housing regulations by attending agency conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
- Communicate regulatory changes and ensure timely integration into training programs and operational practices.
- Train staff on compliance-related software platforms (e.g., Yardi, RealPage), agency software databases, and AIM affordable platforms.
- Assist with troubleshooting and configuration for compliance systems during property transitions.
- Educate teams on company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Support implementation of new policies and ensure consistent adoption across the portfolio.
- Assist the EVP in creating training schedules for the national portfolio.
- Collaborate with Compliance Directors to identify and target specific portfolio needs for training.
- Provide guidance on EIV resolution processes and assist with complex compliance issues during training sessions.
- Collaborate with compliance leadership to identify training gaps and develop targeted solutions.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in affordable housing compliance with strong knowledge of HUD and LIHTC regulations.
- Minimum 2 years in a training or mentoring capacity within the affordable housing industry.
- Ability to travel 50% or more nationwide.
- Holds Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) or equivalent certifications.
- Extensive experience with EIV resolution and HUD systems.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in compliance software, virtual training platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to meet multiple deadlines and work collaboratively with Directors, Operations, and onsite teams

Compensation: Full-Time $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
