The Quality Control Specialist is a key role responsible for accurately collecting, testing and reporting data to ensure that the material produced meets required specifications, standards, and performance criteria. This role involves continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration with supervisors, the field team, and production crew leadership is essential to meeting quality control standards.

Responsibilities: Below are the essential duties and responsibilities of the position; other duties may be assigned as directed:

  • Work closely with the quality control team to fulfill the company’s quality control process and procedures
  • Preform daily field testing on recycled asphalt materials, mixtures, aggregates, and soils stabilized with various additives to ensure compliance with project specifications, state DOT requirements, and internal quality standards
  • Perform field density tests using non‑nuclear gauges, gradations, and moisture content testing
  • Monitor field operations to ensure consistent production quality
  • Verify and perform proper sampling procedures and maintain accurate QC documentation
  • Record test results accurately and maintain detailed QC documentation
  • Communicate test results and quality issues with field crews and supervisors
  • Prepare and submit QC reports, including test results, observations, and corrective actions
  • Assist in troubleshooting material or production problems
  • Ensure compliance with state DOT specs, ASTM standards, and internal QC protocols
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the quality control team for mix designs, specifications, and testing needs
  • Have a safety-focused mentality:
    • Always ensure and promote a safe working environment
    • Enforces all company OSHA and other applicable safety standards.
    • Reports and safety concerns to the shop manager.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, a candidate would have the following:

  • Able to work independently while having a strong attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and ensure accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training
  • Working knowledge of recycled asphalt and soil cement mix designs, testing, production processes, and field operations.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of quality control or related materials testing experience
  • Confident in abilities to take initiative when action is necessary
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and attend meetings/trainings on site or in the office and travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to construction sites and potential physical demands.
  • Ability to Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must Valid driver’s license

Compensation: The hourly rate will be determined and commensurate with the candidate's skill and experience level and access to full benefits, including 401k, medical, dental, and vision insurance.
