JOB TITLE: Sales Representative/ Estimator

Providing effective fire protection solutions begins with a knowledgeable, customer-focused sales approach. The Sales Representative is integral to connecting clients with fire sprinkler systems that meet their specific needs while upholding industry standards. This role ensures that each project is accurately estimated, professionally presented, and aligned with our mission of delivering top-tier fire protection services. The Why behind this position is to build trust and maintain long-lasting client relationships through expertise, reliability, and dedication to fire safety. 

Key Responsibilities (High-Level): 

  1. Sales & Estimating
    • Review construction contract documents and prepare accurate estimates for fire sprinkler systems, including material and labor costs, to provide competitive, reliable proposals. 
    • Lay out and take off fire sprinkler systems for bid estimation, using knowledge of design, layout, and NFPA codes to ensure accurate pricing. 
  2. Customer Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a point of contact for customers throughout the project bidding and proposal process. 
    • Follow up with clients on project bids, address questions, negotiate terms, and strengthen relationships to support customer satisfaction and repeat business. 
  3. Technical Expertise & Problem Solving
    • Leverage experience in fire protection design, NFPA codes, and hydraulic calculations to accurately assess project requirements and offer tailored solutions. 
    • Work with clients and internal teams to resolve project challenges and develop solutions that meet client and code requirements. 
  4. Proposal & Documentation Preparation
    • Prepare detailed proposals and documentation for customers, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and alignment with Red Hawk’s standards. 
    • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to compile project estimates, proposals, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all client-facing materials. 
  5. Collaboration & Teamwork
    • Collaborate effectively with design, project management, and field teams to ensure project estimates align with execution capabilities and timelines. 
    • Maintain open communication with internal teams and participate actively as a team player, supporting a smooth project handover process.

    • Deliver clear, comprehensive proposals and documentation that reflect Red Hawk’s commitment to excellence, ensuring all client interactions are positive and professional.

    • Work cohesively with the design and project teams to ensure accurate estimates and a seamless transition from sales to project execution, helping Red Hawk maintain quality and timeliness across all projects. 

 

Working Conditions

Expected working hours and conditions are as follows:

Monday – Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm in a professional office setting with normal working conditions and time spent visiting construction sites.  Adjustments to work schedule can be made through supervisor.

 

Physical Requirements

Repetitive tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Typing
  • Computer operation
  • Sitting at a workstation or desk
  • Telephone correspondence
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain at a job site, and possibly climb stairs or ladders
  • Able to carry survey equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Site visits to drop off material, survey and attend meetings.

Salary Range: $35.00-$60.00 per hour Depending on Experience

Paid Time Off: 80 hours upon completion of 90-day probationary period
