We’re looking for a driven Business Development Specialist – Digital Power to accelerate growth in our digital energy and power distribution portfolio. In this role, you’ll champion IoT‑enabled electrical solutions, build strategic customer relationships, and help organizations modernize the way they monitor, manage, and optimize their energy usage.

Role Overview

Responsible for driving revenue growth by selling IoT hardware, software, and services for managing and controlling electrical networks. Build strong customer relationships through consultative selling, understanding customer needs, and delivering innovative solutions. Lead complex sales cycles by collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and execute winning sales strategies. Become a trusted advisor to customers, influencing their electrical distribution system design and positioning our solutions as essential to their core operations. developing long-term customer relationships and to accelerate growth in our digital energy and power distribution portfolio. In this role, you’ll champion IoT-enabled electrical solutions, build strategic customer relationships, and help organizations modernize the way they monitor, manage, and optimize their energy usage.

As a Business Development Specialist, you will:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies for digital power and energy management solutions
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key market segments
  • Build strong relationships with electrical contractors, consulting engineers, distributors,and end-users
  • Promote connected power products including metering, power quality systems, and energy monitoring software
  • Deliver compelling presentations, demos, and technical discussions to customers and partners
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, marketing, and sales teams to support customer needs
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
  • Achieve sales targets and maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience in the electrical distribution or automation industry.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 40% within the Midwest region to meet customer needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in B2B sales, business development, or technical sales
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, energy management, or IoT solutions (a plus)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a regional territory
  • A passion for helping customers adopt digital, data‑driven energy solutions
  • Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (including criminal and motor vehicle history).
