Project Managers (PMs) have direct P&L project responsibility. They are responsible for total delivery of the project, in accordance with established criteria. Depending on industry discipline, he / she will be responsible for: Accepting bid packages and assist in creating bid proposals; project scheduling; execution planning, project progress review; expediting; inspection, project safety and quality assurance. PMs are responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating costs, profits, and financial measures of the project. PMs will organize and manage all the elements involved in construction: Safety; labor; materials; tools; equipment; consumables; construction schedule; change orders. This position will spend 50% of time assisting in the management of Industrial Service projects, 35% of time performing quantitative take-offs and developing estimates, 10% of time on job cost studies, 5% of time on miscellaneous activities.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings

Education & Experience:   

  • Degree in construction management or construction related field and three to five years of Project Management experience in the industry

Travel Requirements:   

  • Travel to project sites, or other APi Inc. company locations as needed

  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in plant environment

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct long range project planning and scheduling 
  • Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements 
  • Monitor project billings and collections for accuracy and maintain a positive cash flow 
  • Continually monitor progress of projects; review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines 
  • Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements 
  • Make sure change orders/change estimates are completed in timely manner 
  • Conduct project planning reviews before, during and after the project 
  • Ensure work complies with customer specifications 
  • Report to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications required  
  • Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each project 
  • Ensure proper staffing on each project to produce optimized productivity 
  • Forecast future manpower requirements 
  • Review drawings and assist/lead during field check stage of the project 
  • May also conduct estimating and design functions 
  • Oversee work of subcontractors  
  • Administer construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requests 
  • Participate in evaluation of completed jobs 
  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices  
  • Maintain historical records of all functions for future use

Salary:

Project Manager 1: $73,600 - $110,800

Project Manager 2: $88,300 - $132,300
