The Director of Business Development will serve as a senior leader within the organization, partnering closely with company leadership to support pursuit strategy, pricing, and new business development.
Key responsibilities include:
Pre-Construction & Estimating Leadership
- Work closely with the team on conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates
- Support bid strategy, pricing reviews, and risk evaluation
- Provide constructability input and value-engineering support during pursuits
Business Development & Marketing Support
- Assist in marketing and selling the company to new and existing clients
- Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and pursuit strategy
- Support identification and development of new business opportunities
- Represent the firm professionally with owners, developers, architects, and partners
Market Expansion & Travel
- Travel as part of the role to support growth initiatives, including Florida, Texas, and Richmond, VA
- Support leadership in evaluating and expanding into new and existing markets
Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of construction industry experience preferred
- Experience with a General Contractor or developer
- Exposure to value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost analysis
- Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods (design-build, negotiated, CM at risk, hard bid)
- Comfortable supporting proposal development, client presentations, and pursuit strategy
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
