Job Description

The Industrial Civil Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring all civil and structural work meets project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Inspector will be required to perform and/or participate in audits or surveillance of activities, have a strong background in industrial construction, excavation, concrete, and site development with a focus on detailed documentation and field verification. Generate reports of conditions found during inspection activities, notifies operations and Site/Project Manager of significant problems, and completes documentation necessary to attest to satisfactory completion of all inspections. or test activities.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect civil and structural activities to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Perform concrete field tests (slump, air, temperature, cylinders).
  • Familiarity and monitor excavation, backfill, formwork, rebar installation, concrete placement, compaction, formwork, reinforcement, and foundations.
  • Verify material quality, workmanship, and installation practices.
  • Perform field testing coordination including concrete testing, soil compaction tests, and geotechnical verification.
  • Understanding of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, and masonry.
  • Ability to interpret building codes and project specifications.
  • Document construction activities and identify non-conformances.
  • Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when required and track corrective actions.
  • Compare field conditions to IFC drawings. Interpret civil drawings, construction notes, and details.
  • Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and project management to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure all work follows company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial or civil construction quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete, earthwork, foundations, and structural civil practices.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, AWS, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in field documentation and quality tracking software.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial jobsite environments.
  • Achieved or working towards NCCER accreditation in Industrial Carpentry or Commercial Carpentry. New Hires will have 6 months to pass NCCER assessment.
  • Candidates for this position should have (4) year’s related experience in Industrial Carpentry or Commercial Carpentry work.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

  • Hearing protection
  • Fall protection harness
  • Protective gloves

Associate responsibility

  • Protective footwear: must meet ANSI Z41.1 at a minimum
  • Corrective eyewear: must meet ANSI Z87.1 or can wear eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1 over non-ANSI Z87.1 corrective eyewear
