We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead high-profile building projects and serve as the Engineer of Record (EOR).  They will manage complex project lifecycles, cultivate key client relationships, and oversee the technical execution of new constructions and renovations. They must have a strong background from a consulting engineering firm and possesses the strategic agility to mentor junior staff while ensuring project profitability and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Engineer of Record (EOR) for diverse new construction and structural renovation projects.
  • Perform advanced structural design, rigorous calculations, and multi-variable analysis of complex building systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive structural drawings, technical specifications, and high-level engineering documentation.
  • Conduct thorough structural assessments and draft detailed building condition reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform regular site visits across Las Vegas and the surrounding region to ensure construction aligns with design intent.
  • Review calculations and design packages produced by the team for quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Develop detailed project scopes, work plans, and budgets to ensure operational transparency and success.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, and deliverables to meet strict client requirements and financial targets.
  • Allocate engineering resources effectively and manage team workloads to maintain peak productivity.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Promote technical excellence by implementing the latest industry standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through technical guidance and proactive project communication.
  • Support strategic business development initiatives to expand the firm’s footprint with both new and existing clients.

 Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related
  • Active Nevada S.E. required (Registered with the NV Board)
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience in a consulting firm
  • Proficiency in RISA, RAM, ETABS, or SAFE
  • Expert knowledge of load analysis, seismic design, and building codes
  • Must have the ability to travel for site visits
  • Experience with commercial, high-density residential, or mixed-use building design. (Preferred)
  • Background in structural retrofits and complex renovations. (Preferred)
  • Strong team-building skills and a proven track record of growing junior engineering talent. (Preferred)
  • Prior experience in business development and fee proposal preparation. (Preferred)
