East Coast Contract Industries provides Adult Day Training facility for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Florida. Our programs offers valuable interactive and educational classes that teach participants how to manage a wide range of everyday tasks. Staff work with participants to convey, how to manage money, cook meals, perform household cleaning, use a computer, follow sound health and safety procedures, learn social skills, and participate in art and music expression.

Purpose:
This position directly supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with direct care, these include daily grooming, meal service, risk mitigation and following any applicable behavioral management plans as defined by the resident individual needs.
Essential Duties:
Assist with direct care needs of the clients under the supervision of the Program Training Manager. These needs include toileting, feeding, lifting, and documentation of required duties.
Assist with assessment and evaluation of each client. Assist with Adult Basic Education and Activities of Daily Living Programming for assigned clients.
Ensures resident' rights and promotes optimal quality of life standards. Reports any incident of abuse in accordance with facility procedure and the Disabled Persons Abuse Negligence Act. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with individuals. Attends required abuse risk managment training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising individuals.
Implement and document training needs including acquisition programming, data collection and behavior observations/management procedures. Carry out daily assignments provided by PTM or Director.
Participate in in-services for skill acquisition training, behavior management programming, group management and day treatment standards
Assist with time studies on training jobs and contract work in order to ensure compliance with federal wage and hour guidelines.
Demonstrates proper use of Safety Care procedures and all competencies that are designed to manage aggression, self-injury, and/or property destruction.
Work cooperatively with Therapists to ensure implementation of therapy programs.
Assist with on-going written progress report of client programming. Communicate issues on a regular basis to team verbally and through electronic methods.
Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools and supplies are properly stored, floors kept dry and free of unnecessary equipment to prevent accidents.
Act in accordance with all facility rules and regulations provided in facility Policy and Procedure Manual. Ensure facility operates within management plan.
Punctuality and regular attendance at the work-site are essential functions of the job in order to ensure safe and appropriate levels of care for our residents at all times.
Completes required training on time and regularly attends staff meetings. Project a professional atmosphere and a willing, positive, and courteous expression in performing tasks. Cooperates with fellow workers, supervisors, residents, visitors, etc. in performing tasks.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations.
Completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor/Director.
Required Qualification:
High School diploma or GED
Must be capable of operating facility vehicle and maintaining a safe driving record if designated to drive.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of one year experience working in a a related field preferred but not required. College or vocational/technical training equal to 30 semester hours can substitute for the required experience.

Must be 18 years of age or older (or 21 years old or older if designated to drive).
For purposes of effective communication with residents, families, and staff, must be able to see, hear, speak, read, and write English.
Maintain the ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, walk or stand up to eight hours and able to perform the physical requirements of Safety Care. If required, lift unassisted at least 50 lbs and walk and stand up to eight hours.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
Hourly - $15.00
