Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumber to join our construction team. In this role, you'll install a variety of plumbing systems on commercial projects while working alongside a skilled team committed to quality, safety, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate has experience reading blueprints, installing multiple piping systems, mentoring apprentices, and maintaining a strong commitment to jobsite safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret project drawings, blueprints, and specifications with support from the Foreman as needed.

  • Coordinate plumbing system layouts and perform accurate material takeoffs.

  • Install commercial domestic water piping systems.

  • Install sanitary waste, vent, and roof drainage piping systems.

  • Install medical gas piping systems when properly certified.

  • Safely cut, assemble, and install piping using appropriate tools and installation methods.

  • Assist apprentices and helpers by providing guidance and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Work closely with the Foreman to maintain accurate as-built redline drawings throughout the project.

  • Participate in weekly safety meetings and follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe, organized work area.

  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades to resolve jobsite challenges.

  • Maintain reliable transportation to and from assigned jobsites.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience.

  • Successful completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience reading commercial construction drawings and specifications.

  • Experience installing domestic water, sanitary, vent, and drainage piping systems.

  • Medical gas certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification).

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-operated equipment.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to climb ladders and work from scaffolding, aerial lifts, and scissor lifts.

  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor construction environments.
