SUMMARY:

Performs assignments under the guidance of a senior level designer/engineer. The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Field Engineers help plan, direct, and execute work for all engineering disciplines in the field to support construction projects. As required, they interface and coordinate activities with home office engineering, field construction supervision, and field subcontractors. Additionally, they may support Field Procurement, System Turnover, and Commissioning.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire proficient understanding of the requirements of project documentation
    to adhere to contract requirements and protect ISC from exposure. 
  • Observes and ensures construction practices as required for compliance of construction operations/execution with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements
  • Coordinate internally with other execution disciplines and external suppliers both within Company prescribed policies/procedure and/or direction from the Construction Field Engineering Manager
  • Gather approved required documents and information to support the successful completion of relevant construction activities/requirements.
  • Study and understand the project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of the Contract
  • Responsible for complying and promoting safe work practices
  • Represent in project meetings and needed and required
  • Achieve successful completion of assigned work responsibilities on time, within budget, schedules, and contract requirements.
    • Make computations, analyze results and record data from accounting and engineering sources.
    • Performs estimating duties.
    • May inspect equipment installed and work performed to ensure compliance.
    • Communication and problem-solving skills are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Approximately six (6) months to one (1) year’s hands-on field experience in the Mission Critical Electrical industry.
  • All Field Engineer employees share common technical competencies acquired both within formal accredited educational programs and actual work experience in which they must demonstrate proficiency.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Integrity in dealings with other associates and clients.
  • Ability to work with other personalities in the department and company.
  • Reasonable ability to read drawings and interpret specifications and contract
    language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
  • Proficient knowledge of Primavera, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power
    Point, and Vista.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical materials, tools, and
    equipment.
  • Proficient knowledge of all departmental procedures and how they interrelate.
  • Strong ability to self-manage especially in the areas of planning, organizing,
    delegating and decision making.
  • Strong mindset especially in the areas of being a team player, dependable,
    attendance, willingness to work overtime, presentable dress and appearance,
    willingness to listen and learn, attention to detail, can-do attitude, sense of
    urgency and energy
